Vermont State Labor Council AFL-CIO issued the following announcement.

CHAMPLAIN WATER OF AFSCME LOCAL 1343 RATIFY SOLID THREE YEAR COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH 14.75% RAISES OVER LIFE OF CBA

Yesterday members of AFSCME Local 1343 of the VT AFL-CIO  unanimously ratified a new three year Collective Bargaining Agreement which is slated to go into effect on July 1.  This no concession agreement, among other things, achieves:

* Average rises in year one of 6.75% (COLA, Shift Dif, reclassifications, etc);

* 14.75% average raises over life of the Contract;

* Three hour minimum OT call out pay (up from two);

* Right to Labor Management meetings;

* Union role in Health & Safety issues;

The Vermont AFL-CIO congratulates Steward Matthew Cunningham , the Union Bargaining Team, and 1343 members for winning a solid contract and once again showing THERE IS POWER IN THE UNION.
