Tuition and fees rose 3.7 percent for 2018-19 at Bennington College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Vermont students paid $53,860 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,940 more than the $51,920 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 207 students received grants or scholarships totaling $7.6 million and 118 students took out student loans totaling more than $660,173.

Including all undergraduates (811), 696 students used grants or scholarships totaling $27.3 million, and 379 students took out $2.3 million in federal student loans.
