Vermont Agency of Natural Resources issued the following announcement.
Our #FeatureFriday is Karla, who helps the Agency comply not only with the letter but also the true, underlying intent of civil rights law and environmental justice policies.
From Karla: When thinking about environmental justice and civil rights, I encourage folks to consider that this work has a direct impact on the lives of humans. And that in this shared humanity we have similar desires and wants- we all want to be happy and healthy, be heard and acknowledged, and free of sorrows and burdens. There’s much commonality amongst us humans and morality should transcend differentiation and otherizing.
It's part of our Agency's Earth Day tradition to name a handful of our colleagues as "Earth Day Heroes" -- folks doing great work to steward Vermont's natural resources for all to enjoy. For the next few days we'll be featuring this year's Earth Day Heroes!
