South Burlington starbucks workers rally in support of union drive with Vermont AFL-CIO leaders & community supporters

Cap

Vermont State Labor Council AFL-CIO issued the following announcement.

SOUTH BURLINGTON STARBUCKS WORKERS RALLY IN SUPPORT OF UNION DRIVE WITH VERMONT AFL-CIO LEADERS & COMMUNITY SUPPORTERS - UNION YES!

Over the weekend, South Burlington Starbucks workers rallied in support of their Union drive that is already underway through SEIU.  Joining them was Vermont AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Dwight Brown (of United!) & Executive Director Liz Medina.  Also in attendance were members of the Democratic Socialists of America and community supporters including former VT Lt. Governor David Zuckerman (of the Progressive Party).

This rally, with participation from 30 workers and allies, called on the Starbucks corporate office to stop their nationwide Union busting activities and to pay workers a livable wage.  Among the speakers was Vermont Starbucks worker/organizer Gaz Romp.

The Vermont AFL-CIO knows that interest in Unionizing all Vermont Starbucks locations is growing, and we look forward to supporting additional organizing efforts in the coming weeks and months.
