Vermont State Labor Council AFL-CIO issued the following announcement.

AFT MEMBERS AT UVM WIN $20 AN HOUR MINIMUM WAGE AND STRONG COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT - UNITED WE ARE UNION STRONG!

Over 1300 newly Unionized UVM technical, specialized and professional staff workers have ratified their first Collective Bargaining Agreement.  The three year contract, among other things, achieves a $20 an hour minimum wage and at least a 10% raise for all over the life of the CBA.  For the first time these workers will also have a grievance procedure and Just Cause protections.  This contract victory was the result of months of rallies and workplace actions by impact workers and allies. The Union is affiliated with AFT.

The Vermont AFL-CIO congratulates UVM workers on achieving this solid Union contract and in once again showing that there is POWER IN THE UNION. United we are Union Strong!
