In 2009, with support from U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, D-VT, Norwich University Applied Research Institutes announced a $15 million contract, of which $6 million is awarded through Air Force Research Lab in Rome, NY, to fund research to develop WebDECIDE, a war gaming platform for the financial sector. Later in 2013, U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy, D-VT, announced a $9.9 million Homeland Security contract for NUARI to continue work on DECIDE simulation software.
