August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day and Vermonters will be gathering at the State House to honor the lives lost to overdose death and to show love and compassion for people who use drugs and may be at risk.
United Way stands in solidarity with Vermonters who have lost loved ones to overdoses. We know that reducing stigma around substance use disorder and making prevention and recovery services more available are key to saving lives. The recently launched Northwest Vermont Prevention Network is one way of the ways United Way is supporting our community and our partners in reducing substance misuse and making prevention and recovery services more available.
