AFSCME LOCAL 1201, MIDDLEBURY WORKERS & RUTLAND LIBRARY WORKERS, RATIFY NEW THREE YEAR UNION COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS
* Middlebury Workers To See Up To 21% Raises Over Three Years;
* Rutland Library Workers To See Up To 14% Raises/Bonuses;
Today in Vermont, Town of Middlebury workers (AFSCME Local 1201) ratified a solid new three year Collective Bargaining Agreement which, among things, achieves:
* Year one total raises ranging from 8% (less senior workers) to 6.5% (more senior workers);
* Total raises (COLA, Steps, Seniority Bonus) ranging between 21% (those within their first eight years of Seniority) to 16.5% (those past eight years of Seniority) during the life of the three year Agreement;
* 5.5% COLA year one retro to July 1 (plus Steps or Seniority Bonus);
* 5%-2% COLA year two (depending on the November to November CPI);
* 3% COLA year three;
* By year two, lowest paid town worker will be getting over $20 an hour;
* DPW On-Call Pay to increased from $130 a week to $160 per week during life of Agreement;
* Flexibility concerning hours worked on Sunday for Wastewater Plant workers;
* No concessions!
Rutland Library workers (also members of AFSCME Local 1201) ratified their new Contract last week. Among other things their new Agreement achieves the following:
* Up to 14% raises (COLA & Bonuses) over three year life of CBA plus new longevity pay;
* 3% COLA year one retro to July 1;
* 3% Bonus year one;
* Up to 5% COLA year two (depending on CPI & other factors);
* 3%-2% COLA year three (depending on CPI);
* Additional pay Steps for first five years of service maintained, with new .10 cents an hour longevity pay each year thereafter;
* Expansion of healthcare opt-out payment for all Union members;
* 82% of the regular healthcare premium paid by employer;
