Vermont State Labor Council AFL-CIO issued the following announcement.

THE VERMONT AFL-CIO STANDS WITH OUR ALLIES MIGRANT JUSTICE ON THIS MAY DAY – TELL HANNAFORD SUPERMARKET MILK WITH DIGITY NOW!

On this May Day members of the Vermont AFL-CIO joined with Migrant Justice in their demand that Hannaford Supermarket sign on to the Milk With Dignity campaign.  The Milk With Dignity campaign aims to achieve good pay and better working conditions on Vermont and northeastern farms.  To date, Ben & Jerry’s has already signed on, but Hannaford has thus far turned a blind eye to justice on the farms.

This this afternoon hundreds of farm workers and allies from the VT AFL-CIO, the Vermont Workers Center, Democratic Socialists of America, IWW, and Bread & Puppet picketed the South Burlington [Vermont] Hannaford.  Also in attendance was former VT Lt. Governor David Zuckerman (Progressive) and VT State Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale (Democrat). Previous to the picket, this morning, smaller actions were carried out at Hannaford locations across the Northeast.

The Vermont AFL-CIO stands with ALL workers when they demand justice regardless of their immigration status.  Therefore we too add our name to all those who tell Hannaford that we STAND WITH MIGRANT JUSTICE AND DEMAND MILK WITH DIGNITY NOW!
