THE VT AFL-CIO CONGRATULATES ARGENTINA ON THEIR WORLD CUP VICTORY!

Today Argentina overcame France in an epic match which came down to penalty kicks.  The final score was 3-3 (4-2).  In doing, Argentina became World Cup Champions and will be bringing the championship back to a Latin America which in recent years has served as a stronghold of an increasingly resurgent left.  Argentina, Mexico, Honduras, Brazil, Columbia, Venezuela, Chile, Boliva, and Cuba are all presently governed by leftists. In Peru a leftist candidate was also elected to the office pf President but was recently deposed by rightwing forces (demonstrations are ongoing).

The Vermont AFL-CIO congratulates Argentina and team captain Lionel Messi (two goals and one penalty kick) on its historic World Cup victory.  May this win bring much deserved joy to the people of Argentina and Latin America as a whole.
