There was a single gas station in cities across Bennington County selling diesel at the price of $3.59 per gallon in the week ending May 18, according to GasBuddy.com.
Of the 17 gas stations in cities within Bennington County, just one offers diesel.
The average price of diesel in Vermont was $4.08, compared to $4.11 the week before.
Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year’s end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.
